The RBVRR Hostel was established thanks to the visionary efforts of Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy Garu. Recognizing the need to support students pursuing education in the city, he laid the foundation for this institution, providing a crucial resource for many young minds.

— A Life of Service, Vision, and Nation Building
“Asato mā sadgamaya • Tamaso mā jyotirgamaya • Mṛtyor mā amṛtaṁ gamaya”
“Lead me from falsehood to truth. Lead me from darkness to light. Lead me from death to immortality.”
These timeless words from the Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad found living expression in Raja Bahadur Pasham Venkata Rama Reddy—a visionary administrator, philanthropist, educationist, and social reformer whose life elevated entire communities.
Born on 22 August 1869 in Rayanipet, Wanaparthy, Raja Bahadur’s childhood was shaped by immense personal loss, yet guided by the steadfast care of his maternal uncle Sai Reddy (William Wahab). The discipline, compassion, and moral courage instilled in him during these formative years became the bedrock of his service.

Every great institution carries a symbol that tells its story. Our emblem is a living chronicle of our history, values, vision, and collective journey. The central logo—created during the era of our founder, Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy—reflects Cultivation, Education, Valour, and Governance, qualities that defined his legacy of service, leadership, and resilience.
Over time, this vision embraced all, extending support to students from every background, echoing the timeless wisdom: “Sarvejana Sukhino Bhavantu – Samastha Lokanam Sukhino Bhavantu” (May all beings be happy – May peace prevail in all worlds).
In 2025, the RBVR Reddy Hostel Alumni Association was formed to carry this torch forward—preserving the grandeur of the RBVRR Society and sharing its pride globally. The emblem’s eight outward arrows signify boarders excelling worldwide, while the surrounding symbols honor the fields where alumni serve: medical science, education and welfare, research and technology, agriculture and environment, law and defence, finance and social science, sports and fine arts, and moral and spiritual science.
Encircling these are our Ten Guiding Qualities—our compass and torchlight beyond the hostel gates:
Our emblem is our legacy, pride, and inspiration—a beacon uniting past, present, and future, reminding every boarder and alumnus of the greatness we inherit and the values we uphold.
“It gives me great pleasure to have created our emblem, and I am deeply thankful to all of you for being my friends. I extend my humble gratitude to the hostel for gifting me cherished memories during my stay from 1987 to 92.” — kc reddy.
